FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Windows Phone (Free-Pr-online.com) will have the new window explorer 9 installed in 2011, as well as Twitter-access and will be able to run multiple applications at the same time.
BARCELONA: It is all coming together. That was Microsoft Chief Steve Ballmers message, in his speech Monday afternoon at the year’s Edition of the world’s largest, Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona in the North-East of Spain.
The Finnish mobile giant Nokia was also represented, and they are still the undisputed leader in the mobile industry with the largest market share. Steve Ballmer did what he could to make it clear that Microsoft’s new mobile operating system for the, Windows Phone, will develop-quickly.
In the course of this year there will be direct access to Twitter, a text-like social network, where you can send small messages of no more than 140 characters to, anyone that is also involved with twitter. Twitter will be built into the Windows Phone, so you can see what people in the same contact list have written recently, just as you can with Facebook.
Windows Phone is also equipped with Microsoft’s new version of the Web application the Internet Explorer 9. It is still being tested, but it is possible, for example. to play videos without the need for special plug-ins such as Adobe Flash. So far this has been a problem in a mobile phone.
Finally the Windows Phone gets the ability to run multiple applications at the same time, so for example you can listen to radio while switching and replying to messages, without the music being interrupted.
Windows Phone 7 came on the market in the autumn but has not been a sales success
to date, Microsoft have only sold two million phones, and a wide variety of the most important and most attractive features are still not available in languages other then English.
Nokia’s new Chief, which comes from Microsoft, revealed last Friday that Nokia now has its own OS, Symbian. However the company has decided to putt all their eggs in Microsoft’s basket, so that all future Nokia phones, in the more expensive high end are running Windows Phone software.
The agreement is a major plus for Microsoft, it is deemed that it’s Microsoft’s last chance to gain a foothold in the the mobile market, which is becoming more and more important as the mobile PC market is exploding.
